Ipoh, March 14, 2025 – Super Fortress Sdn. Bhd., the official representative of FN Herstal in Malaysia, successfully organized an exclusive live-fire demonstration showcasing FN Herstal’s latest machine guns, including the cutting-edge FN EVOLYS ultralight machine gun and the new FN HiPer® pistol. The event was held in collaboration with the Director General of Army, Director of Infantry, Deputy Chief of Army, Commander of the 21 Special Service Group, and the Director of Special Service, with participation from Malaysia’s elite police special forces.

A special forces operator puts the FN EVOLYS 7.62mm to the test.

Among the distinguished attendees were members of the 69 Commando (VAT 69) unit of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Special Operations Force (UTK) and General Operations Force (PGA) who had the opportunity to experience firsthand the advanced capabilities of the FN EVOLYS. Introduced to Malaysia in 2024, the FN EVOLYS is an ultra-light machine gun designed to bridge the gap between traditional machine guns and assault rifles, offering enhanced mobility and precision. With a lightweight, ergonomic build and an improved belt-feeding system, the weapon provides superior operational efficiency in high-intensity combat scenarios.

An FN Herstal representative demonstrates the FN EVOLYS 5.56mm ultralight machine gun, highlighting its innovative side-opening feed mechanism by displaying the ammunition belt positioned at a 45-degree angle, which allows for one-handed loading and uninterrupted top rail space for optics.

The demonstration highlighted the FN EVOLYS’ versatility, featuring its full Picatinny rail system that allows for the integration of tactical accessories such as optics and lights. Weighing approximately 5.5 kg for the 5.56mm version and 6.2 kg for the 7.62mm version, the FN EVOLYS is up to 30% lighter than comparable machine guns, significantly enhancing operator mobility. Available in both 5.56mm NATO and 7.62mm NATO calibers, the FN EVOLYS is engineered to meet the rigorous demands of special forces and infantry units, making it an optimal choice for modern combat and tactical operations.

FN HiPer®. Designed for modern operators, this 9mm pistol offers superior handling, enhanced durability, and an optimized grip for ultimate control in high-stakes situations.

The event also featured the FN HiPer® pistol, FN Herstal's new generation 9x19mm handgun dedicated to armed forces and law enforcement. Fully designed, developed, and manufactured in Belgium, the FN HiPer® combines globally proven solutions with numerous innovative patented features to deliver an ergonomic, reliable, and safe weapon. Unlike most pistols with a standard push-button magazine release, the FN HiPer® features a unique downward-rotating lever. This design makes it easier for both left- and right-handed shooters to release the magazine while also reducing the risk of accidental magazine drops.

Another key feature is the repositioned slide catch, placed further back on the frame. This smart placement allows users to reach both the slide release and magazine release with just a slight thumb movement, eliminating the need to adjust grip. This improves speed and efficiency, especially in high-pressure situations. The pistol also includes built-in safety features. It won’t let you take it apart unless the magazine is removed, reducing the chance of accidental mishandling. The grip is designed for comfort and control, with three interchangeable covers to fit different hand sizes and non-slip surfaces for a secure hold.
